I love starting something. The exhilaration of new beginnings, with all of their possibilities, and blissful ignorance of their obstacles. It is both blessing and curse of having more ideas than time. Naturally, this leads to a lot of projects abandoned as quickly as they were started.

It’s an addiction. New beginnings are a quick hit, a rush of dopamine. The excitement of endless opportunities - with no history, the future can be everything. But like every rush to the head, it fades quickly. New projects become old projects. The exciting new thing becomes the stale current thing, which, all too soon, turns into the thing you were trying to get away from in the first place.

Be ruthless. Kill your darlings. It hurts, but what follows is liberation. Because if you’re chasing closure, new beginnings take care of themselves.
